Strictly necessary

These run regardless of your cookie choice, because the site cannot function or stay secure without them.

• Consent management: remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner, and when you made it, so we don’t ask again every visit. This is stored in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) under the name dlf-consent and is kept for 12 months, after which we ask again.
• Security and infrastructure (Cloudflare): helps deliver the site reliably and protects it from bot traffic, denial-of-service attempts, and other abuse. This runs at the infrastructure level, not as a marketing or analytics tool.
• Anti-spam (Cloudflare Turnstile): protects the site’s case review form from automated spam. Turnstile verifies you are a person using limited browser signals, and may set a cookie or browser-storage entry to do so. It does not require you to solve visual puzzles, and it is not an advertising or analytics tool.

Analytics (consent-gated)

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) helps us understand how visitors use the site (which pages get read, how people move through the site, and where they run into friction) so we can improve it. GA4 does not load, and no analytics cookies are set, until you consent to the “Analytics” category in the cookie banner. If you never opt in, GA4 never runs.

We have configured GA4 conservatively: it loads only after an affirmative opt-in, and IP addresses are handled through Google’s IP-anonymization behavior.

What this site does not use

• No advertising or social-media pixels. This site sets no marketing or advertising cookies of any kind, and does not share browsing data with advertising platforms. There is no “Marketing” category in the consent banner because there is nothing in it.
• No session replay. We do not record or play back individual visitor sessions, mouse movements, or keystrokes.
• No chat widget. There is no live chat or chatbot tool collecting conversational data on this site.

How to change your preferences

You can update or withdraw your cookie consent at any time using the “Cookie Preferences” link in the site footer, which reopens the consent banner. Changes take effect immediately for future page loads; they do not retroactively delete data already collected, though you may request deletion under the Privacy Policy.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

If your browser or a browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, this site honors it automatically as an opt-out of non-essential tracking, consistent with declining the Analytics category in the cookie banner. You do not need to also click through the banner if GPC is enabled. You can still review or change your choices there at any time.
